Wapiti Lodge was originally built by Bob Savidge in 1966. Before the motel, there were 2 hunting cabins that were on the property and were rented to hunters for many years during the hunting season. Bob continued this rich tradition with the construction of the Wapiti Lodge. The original motel included a mess hall to feed all the hunters, this is now room 12, our largest unit. Margaret Fretwell, and her former husband, bought the property in 1981 and ran it until 2014 when she sold it to the current owners.
